Aid Arrives for Flood-Swamped Thailand, Cambodia
Help is starting to pour into Thailand and other parts of Asia where rising floodwaters are swamping entire communities and threatening to overrun even more. United States Marines arrived in Bangkok Saturday with equipment, sandbags and other relief supplies. Financial planning: Vietnamese bank targets rural clients
Financial planning SACOMBANK yesterday announced the launch of its new subsidiary, the 100 per cent foreign-owned Sacombank Cambodia Plc, which is set to target the Kingdom’s rural population. Phnom Penh Port shipments increase
Freight shipments through Phnom Penh Autonomous Port saw year-on-year growth of 30 per cent in the first nine months of the year, according to official PPAP figures. Fast Relief Urged for Families in Flooding
The relief organization Oxfam American on Tuesday called for increased efforts to help tens of thousands of families cope with severe flooding across the country. The US-based group said displaced people need food deliveries, clean water, sanitation supplies and shelters, as the death toll from floods in August rose to 164 people and nearly 21,000 people have been displaced.
