Demonstrators at Court Delay Questioning of Lake Residents

Phnom Penh Municipal Court postponed the questioning of eight Boeung Kak lake residentsTuesday, after more than 100 people showed up in front of the court to demonstrate. Cash crop deal to aid Kingdom

A Malaysian firm on Saturday signed a joint agricultural agreement with property development company Paragon Corporation Cambodia worth a potential US$2 billion in exports of corn, rubber, coffee and other cash crops. Penned by Paragon Corporation Cambodia and Markmore Group Malaysia, the joint development project will develop 400,000 hectares of corn, sugarcane, rubber, cocoa, coffee, pepper and rice in Mondulkiri, Kampong Cham and Kratie provinces. Leading Researcher Calls on UN to Investigate Tribunal Judges’ Office

The head of the Documentation Center of Cambodia on Wednesday called for the UN to take “decisive action” to investigate the office of investigating judges at the Khmer Rouge tribunal, following the abrupt resignation of its international judge on Monday. The Documentation Center is a major researcher of Khmer Rouge atrocities, providing thousands of documents that have made the tribunal possible. Floods force GDP revision

Officials now expect 6 per cent growth Cambodia has lowered its economic growth projection from 7 to 6 per cent for 2011 after more than a month of flood devastation in the Kingdom and continued economic turmoil in the United States and Europe, Deputy Prime Minister Keat Chhon said yesterday. The full impact of the floods cannot yet be determined, but growth should remain at or above 6 per cent, officials and experts said.
